Research Coffee with Alberto Rodrigues da Silva – Digital transition in Portugal: the role of the Government in the construction and implementation of European public policies

In this edition of Research Coffee is interviewed Alberto Rodrigues da Silva, (then) Secretary of State for Modernization and Digitalization, Full Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering (Instituto Superior Técnico of the University of Lisbon). The interview was conducted by Alessandra Silveira (director of the UNIO platforms and CitDig coordinator) and Joana Covelo Abreu (CitDig key staff member). It was considered the European Commission’s report on the Portuguese strategy for the Digital Decade in Portugal (July 2024) – in the field of digital infrastructures, companies, skills, public services, etc. –,  highlighting the areas of progress and weaknesses highlighted by the Commission, as well as the specific recommendations to address the identified shortcomings.
