“Open class” taught by Prof. Alessandra Silveira, coordinator of JM Centre of Excellence CitDig, to students from the University of the Extreme South of Santa Catarina (UNESC, Criciúma, Brazil), entitled “Digital citizenship and technological sustainability: pursuing the ecological and digital transitions as socially just transitions”.

On 24 April 2025, from 10 AM to 12 PM, an “Open Class” was taught by Prof. Alessandra Silveira (academic coordinator of JM Centre of Excellence CitDig), to students of the Postgraduate Program in Law (PPGD) and the Postgraduate Program in Socioeconomic Development (PPGDS) of University of the Extreme South of Santa Catarina (UNESC, Criciúma, Brazil), entitled “Digital citizenship and technological sustainability:  pursuing the green and digital transitions as just transitions”. The event was part of the “International Dialogues on Human Rights and Society” (promoted by the Brazilian higher education institution), with Professors Dimas de Oliveira Estevam (Coordinator of Postgraduate Program in Socioeconomic Development at UNESC) and Reginaldo de Souza Vieira (Coordinator of Postgraduate Program in Law at UNESC) as discussants. Alessandra Silveira sought to explain to what extent the green and digital transitions should be just transitions – and why this claim is being called into question in the European Union, precisely the space in the world that has taken a green and digital justice strategy the furthest away, through the European Green Deal of December 2019.
